Earth Day - How we can all help
Every April, Earth Day reminds us why environmental stewardship matters. Born in 1970 from a rising environmental movement, Earth Day catalyzed major change, from the founding of the EPA to landmark legislation. For California 89, it’s deeply personal. Surrounded by alpine beauty, our way of life depends on healthy forests, clear lakes, and snowy winters—all threatened by climate change. That’s why we strive to operate sustainably, support local environmental nonprofits like the Tahoe Fund MAP, and NPCA and encourage mindful outdoor practices. As Earth Day 2025 approaches, join us and renew your own pledge to keep Truckee—and the planet—wild and beautiful.
