Start with the place
Euer Valley is part of the Tahoe Donner trail network north of Truckee. The ride starts from Alder Creek Lodge, a year-round outdoor hub with access to biking, hiking, equestrian routes, and the valley trails in summer.
The valley floor can hold water in spring, which is part of what makes the place so pretty and also why timing matters. Save this one for dry conditions and let the soft sections recover when the trail needs it.

How the ride feels
Euer Valley Loop feels like a small tour of Tahoe Donner. You start at the lodge, move through signed trail, drop toward the valley floor, and make your way back with a little bit of everything.
It is an easy ride, but not a flat one. There is enough climb and dirt to make it feel like an outing, especially for newer riders or family groups.
Finding your way
Start at Alder Creek Lodge. Ride up and follow signs for Cinnamon Twist.
Drop to the valley floor and cross the large bridge. Turn onto North Euer Valley Road, visit Coyote Hut, then use South Euer Valley Road to return.
In spring, the Coyote Hut area can flood. If the trail is closed, soft, or muddy, choose another ride.
Who this ride is for
This loop is good for beginner-to-intermediate riders and families with some trail time.
It is also a nice pick when you want a signed route, a clear start, and a loop that feels connected to the place.
Keep it local
Before you head to Alder Creek Lodge, check the California 89 Bike Card and make sure Euer Valley fits the season. If the valley is soft, save it for later.
