Lisa Gotts
Founder/Owner
Lisa Gotts founded California 89 in 2012. Following a career in national magazine advertising sales in Chicago and San Francisco, she launched a lifestyle brand built on storytelling, authenticity, and a love of mountain living. What began as a passion project has grown into a beloved Tahoe destination with a curated mix of apparel, home goods, and gifts with a relaxed, elevated mountain aesthetic. Today she leads the business alongside her children, growing California 89 as a family-run brand grounded in community and the Tahoe lifestyle.
Ethan Gotts
COO Apparel
Ethan Gotts shares a birthday with California 89, which opened its doors in 2012, and he's helped build the brand ever since. As COO, he leads the apparel side of the brand and built its online home, helping carry California 89 from a single Truckee shop into a unified store across apparel, home, and gifts. Part of the next generation of the family that founded it, he works to grow the brand while keeping alive the community ties it was built on.
Bella Gotts
Coo Home
Bella Gotts is the COO of CA89 Home and the team's eye for detail. She leads the CA89 Home side of the business, runs the brand's social media, and has a gift for connecting customers with exactly the piece they didn't know they were looking for. The daughter of founder Lisa Gotts, she brings a careful, personal touch to everything from the shelves to the storefront.
Willow Games
Store Manager, Truckee
Willow Games manages the Truckee store and brings the kind of local roots the brand is built on. Born and raised in Northern Nevada and now settled in Truckee, she connected with the 89 lifestyle right away and has been part of the team for about two years. She's drawn to the work of a local, woman-owned company grounded in community, family, and a love of the outdoors. Her favorite part of the job is the people, the longtime locals who have supported the shop for years and the visitors discovering it for the first time. That mix is what makes the role mean something to her.
