Start with the place
Western States to Painted Rock starts in the Olympic Valley and CA-89 corridor between Truckee and Tahoe City. The route climbs away from the Truckee River side of the road and works toward a viewpoint above the valley.
Olympic Valley is best known as the home of Palisades Tahoe, but this ride is about the trail above the resort corridor. It is close to the bike path and river, yet the climb gives it a real North Lake feel.
