Easy miles through Martis Valley
Tompkins Trail Loop sits in the Martis Creek and Martis Valley area near Truckee, where meadow, willows, creek channels, and forest all sit close together. It is one of those walks that feels easy without feeling empty.
A portion of the loop uses paved path, and the rest moves through unpaved meadow trail, bridges, and boardwalks. It is a good shoulder-season choice when higher trails are still holding snow.
