The complete set features hikes along meadows and boardwalks, through forests, and even through tunnels — but this week, we’re highlighting three out-and-back trails that are all about the lake:

• Monkey Rock (Moderate), a 2.6-mile out-and-back trail where you can get sweeping views of the lake and come face to face with Monkey Rock in one quick & manageable hike.

• Mount Tallac Trail (Hard), a 10.5-mile out-and-back trail that’ll beckon you up 3,200+ feet to a stellar view from one of Tahoe’s most iconic peaks.
